The Forgotten Coast Series
The Forgotten Coast is an ongoing series of original artworks inspired by the changing light, atmosphere, and quiet beauty of Florida’s Gulf shoreline.
Each piece begins with a real sunset observed in and around Mexico Beach along what is known as the Forgotten Coast. The following day, that fleeting moment is revisited through pan pastel and paint—translated not as a literal record, but as an atmospheric memory of light, horizon, and place.
Created as a daily creative ritual, the series explores how no two evenings are ever the same. Some sunsets arrive softly in muted tones, others in luminous bursts of color, each carrying its own mood and presence.
Working in both intimate paper originals and select larger studio pieces, the series reflects a fascination with simplicity, openness, and the emotional pull of the sea.
Every artwork in The Forgotten Coast is a one-of-one original connected to a specific moment in time—an attempt to preserve something beautiful and passing.
At its core, the series is about more than sunsets.
It is about stillness.
Light.
Memory.
